About Us

  ~Milessa and Lon~

Parrot Passion.Com

I think everyone has a story to tell,  about how they got started with their Pets and we aren't any different. Our journey started with a Pocket Parrot.  Lon was gone to a business meeting and I decided,  now was the time for that bird I had been thinking about.

No other birds in my life until one day I happened to be in a pet store and this baby Timneh Grey peaked over the edge trying to get a fix on me. I had no idea what was about to happen... that Timneh changed our lives! If any of you have ever been lucky enough,  for a parrot to pick you out of a group of people, well there are no words to explain the moment other than its like you've been together all of your life and that it was just meant to be. You know the rest of the story, one bird lead to another bird,  then another and so on and so on.

Lon and I have had parrots as pets for about 22 years and breeding and  raising them for 17 years. Each and every new baby is still,  just as important today as it was 22 years ago. When we started our adventure, it was with one thought as our as our bench mark. "If we could not raise sweet and loving baby Parrots for people, that made us cry when they go to their new home, then we didn't want to do it anymore."  If we get to where it doesn't cause me to miss a few hours of sleep each night when one of our babies leaves, then we've lost some of the punch that we started out with and that can't happen as far as we are concerned.

Milessa and I come into contact with the babies from an age of 1 to 25 days. We try to leave babies with parents as long as possible.  All new  baby parrots come into their new environment and, they grow and evolve into the beautiful birds they are. Our plan is to provide them a transition, to their new environment. Our hope is that they can become quality pet Parrots.  That is hearing, seeing and learning all the new sounds and visuals,  that comes with that inter action with our other pets, dog, cat and other. There are a lot of combos out there!!

We encourage people to visit their new babies as often as possible until they are weaned and ready to go home. We enjoy the company and it is so much better for both baby and new caregivers,  to have as much time as possible.  We are always available. We encourage every caregiver, to ask questions, call if they become uncomfortable with an issue or you just need to talk about something.  If we don't have the answer to your question, we will do what we can to find an answer.  You won't be left alone!

At the present time Lon and I are owned by six pets, Keone a Hyacinth Macaw, Sydney the Moluccan Cockatoo also known as our Sales Manager, he thinks he is the only reason people come around, is to see him.  Lokie our Triton Cockatoo, Miss Ellie, our Rose Breasted (Galah) Cockatoo, Barney our African Grey and Gidget my little Black headed Caique.  No promises that six is the final number!

That is not a big number, until you add 25 baby Macaws, Cockatoos, African Greys, Eclectus and a brooder full of Caiques!!    Well,  you see the pictures..
